Family Therapy
Family therapy is an invitation for a family to come together and address challenges such as conflict, expectations of one another, unhealthy communication patterns, personality differences and negative interactions. Together with a therapist, you, as a family, will seek to gain a broader understanding of one another as individuals and learn skills to help problem solve, resolve conflict, and develop heathier patterns of communication and interaction.
EMDR
Catalyst Counseling offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as a type of therapy utilized to relieve the emotional and psychological distress that is caused by trauma. According to the EMDR Institute, “EMDR therapy facilitates the accessing of the traumatic memory network, so that information processing is enhanced, with new associations forged between the traumatic memory and more adaptive memories or information. These new associations are thought to result in complete information processing, new learning, elimination of emotional distress, and development of cognitive insights. As a natural outcome of the EMDR therapeutic process, the clients’ thoughts, feelings and behavior are all robust indicators of emotional health and resolution.”
